Meet Your INSTRUCTOR

Thinuwan, a well-seasoned outdoor instructor from Hong Kong with an international exposure to the industry of outdoor experiential education, is a passionate adventurer who prefers to live on the edge with a strong belief that one’s life begins at the end of their comfort zone. A graduate from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering under the administration of the Ministry of Defense, India, the expeditions he has led to the high, cold and hostile environments of the Himalayas is an exceptional story itself

Qualifications

  • IVQ Level 3 – Advanced Diploma in Teaching, Training, and Assessing Learning | City & Guilds UK.
  • 14+ years of combined industry experience in inbound tourism, outbound activity-based training, and event management for both corporates and students of all levels from Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.
  • Occupational safety and health administration for general industry | OSHA-USA.
  • Basic life support | Advanced | Psychological first aider & CPR-AED ASHI USA.
  • Assessor Supervisor | The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award UK.
  • UEQ – Unlocking emotional intelligence | 6seconds USA.
    Senior outdoor instructor | Hong Kong.
  • Leave No Trace trainer | USA.
    Certified high-altitude advanced mountaineer | NIM INDIA.
  • Petzl trainer – PPE Inspection, work at height & partner rescue | Petzl FRANCE (Former).
  • National search and rescue operator | DMC / APAD Sri Lanka.
